Who’s Left in Hot Pursuit of Lord Stanley’s Cup?

Teams are beginning to catch a glimpse of the shining silver of the Stanley Cup, as they work their way to the ultimate prize. Just four teams remain in the race, with Western Conference finals in the process between the Los Angeles Kings and the Phoenix Coyotes. One of these lucky teams will eventually face off against the winner of the Eastern Conference finals, which will be either the New Jersey Devils or the New York Rangers.

L.A. Kings and Phoenix Coyotes Bring Heat to the Ice

The L.A. Kings have looked strong throughout the Stanley Cup push, beating Vancouver in their first series four games to one and sweeping the St. Louis Blues in the second series. They continue to look strong against the Coyotes, grabbing an early 2-0 lead, and heading to their home ice for games three and four. However, Phoenix has also dominated the playoffs to this point, winning their first series against Chicago 4-2 and their second series against Nashville 4-1.

The current series has been a heated one to this point, with the Coyotes showing their frustration in game 2 and picking up misconduct penalties as a result. One of their star forwards, Martin Hanzal was suspended after a particularly bad hit on Kings’ captain Dustin Brown in game 2.

Now Phoenix will have to figure out how to beat the odds without one of their best players on the ice. Discount NHL playoff ticket holders have already seen their fill of intense ice time between these two teams.
